Welcome to Democracy in Action!

You have arrived at the website of for the Show MI the Money campaign whose goal is to achieve transparency and restore limits in political money. ShowMItheMoney was created in 2019 by Michiganders for Fair and Transparent Elections (MiFTE) as a coalition of democracy-focused groups that would work mutually on campaigns and activities that would end the hijacking of Michigan’s elections by Big Money and Dark/Secret Money. ShowMItheMoney is a grass-roots, non-partisan organization. The early groups that assembled agreed that any successful effort to address the problem of runaway money in our elections would require the banding together of a number of elections stakeholder groups who can, in turn, energize a large number of people across the state. Michigan’s problems with money in its elections/politics are so deep and so extensive that only overwhelming citizen action can achieve the kind of changes we need.

The ShowMItheMoney partnership significantly grew as part of the April 27, 2023 ShowMItheMoney Lobby Day event at Michigan’s Capitol.
